Frequently Asked Questions
We use your electricity usage to design a custom solution that fits your home’s energy needs. Because electricity use can change with the seasons, we ask for at least a full year of energy data to design the right system for you.
Every utility in Ontario and Nova Scotia provides Green Button data, allowing electricity customers to access and manage their energy use online. The data is in a standard format, making it easy to analyze and share with a third party like Kizuna.
We can use this data to analyze your energy usage during the assessment process and design a custom solution for you, whether you are looking for an EV Charging, Battery Backup or Solar solution .
The cost varies based on factors like the type of charger, your home’s electrical system, and any necessary upgrades. After our on-site visit, we will give you a detailed assessment that outlines all the costs.
Yes, electrical permits are required to install a Level 2 EV charger. Our team will take care of all the paperwork and obtain the necessary permits for you.
During the on-site visit, our electrician will assess your home’s electrical capacity and setup to ensure it can support a Level 2 charger. Most homes can accommodate a Level 2 charger, but some older electrical systems may need some additional electrical upgrades.
Depending on your location, there may be a fee for the on-site visit. However, we will waive this fee if you proceed with the installation.
If you only have a Level 1 charger at home, charging an empty battery can take up to 40 hours. Level 2 chargers can charge a BEV to 80 percent from empty in 4-10 hours and a PHEV in 1-2 hours.
You can purchase a Level 2 charger for us to install, or we can recommend options as Part of our EV Charging Assessment that best fit your vehicle and charging needs if you don’t already have one.
A Level 2 EV charger charges your electric vehicle (EV) much faster than a standard Level 1 charger, which uses a regular household outlet. Installing a Level 2 charger at home ensures your EV is always ready to go and allows you to benefit from lower electricity rates during off-peak hours.
